  • New Horizons – A Spacecraft for Pluto a talk by David Davies FRAS »

We have another top notch talk for you on Monday evening this time given by Mike Foulkes entitled “Saturn’s Edge on Rings” Saturn is often regarded as one of the showpieces of the night sky due to its fine system of rings. However twice during a Saturnian year, the rings are presented edge-on to both the Earth and Sun and can be difficult to observe. Despite this, there are some interesting features that can only be observed around the time of the edge-on phases and these will be discussed in this talk.

Mike is a keen amateur astronomer with a particular interest in Saturn, he is Director of the British Astronomical Association’s Saturn Section. We can expect an in depth summary of the wonders of Saturn.

As ever the doors open at 7.00pm, tea and biccies 7.15pm and the talk starts at 7.30pm.
